Landing in Chicago at 7:00 Monday morning on the red-eye from Las Vegas sounded like the worst idea in the world. Tack on a 90-minute rush hour taxi communte from O’Hare to the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown Chicago and one may think I was intentionally torturing myself. Fast forward to Monday afternoon and my travel nightmare seemed like a distant memory thanks to the buzz surrounding the Original Gourmet booth at McCormick Place for the NCA Sweets and Snacks Expo.
Guests posed for pictures with the Lollipop Queen. The OGFC team redefined perceptions of the lollipop category for thousands of visitors that stopped by booth #571. Guests left with an understanding why Original Gourmet Lollipops truly are the “World’s Best Lollipops”!
It’s been a light couple weeks on DanLeavitt.com as I transition into a new work schedule. I was offered an opportunity that covers nearly all of the traits necessary to confidently justify a career move.
Original Gourmet Lollipops are the #1 selling lollipop brand in the United States. The OGFC supplies a wide range of seasonal and everyday items to thousands of retailers throughout North America. Other products include: soft baked cookies, premium (butter) cookies, fudge, wafers, candy canes and a complete line of gift-packaged items. As for my role, just call me “Lollipop Leavitt”! I have a sweet role (pun intended) managing key accounts and developing new business with international distributors as the company expands into Canada and Mexico. The company’s tremendous past and projected growth, along with a fun environment that suits my sales/marketing background, made the opportunity particularly appealing.
Have no fear, DanLeavitt.com is not going to disappear! Expect an occasional sneak peak of the fun projects under way at Original Gourmet. I will continue offering various insights on branding, business development, and different elements of marketing, so you won’t catch me lollygagging around. Stay tuned for helpful tidbits and word on what’s popping at the OGFC (don’t expect the cheesy puns to stop, it’s too easy)!
